Shannon behind the wheel

What if the story you've been telling yourself isn't actually true?

For years, I was convinced I was the exception. That my anxiety was different. That I'd tried everything — therapy, medication, every tool and technique — and nothing was ever going to work for me. That panic and agoraphobia were simply going to be part of my life forever. If any of that sounds familiar, this episode is for you.

The Story Anxiety Loves to Tell

Anxiety is really good at taking one simple thought — what if I can't recover? — and turning it into an entire story. That one thought becomes "I've tried everything," which becomes "nothing works for me," which becomes "my anxiety must just be different," which becomes "I'm probably going to be like this forever." I walk through exactly how that spiral works for me, and why I went along with it for so long, even when part of me knew it wasn't true.

I Wasn't the Exception

Almost every person who joins Panic to Peace comes in believing they're the one exception and that their anxiety is somehow worse, more stubborn, or more "special" than everyone else's. I get it, because I believed the exact same thing about myself for over a decade. But my anxiety didn't get to decide what the rest of my life looked like, no matter how convinced I was that it did. And yours doesn't either.

Real Stories From Real Recovery

I share messages from past Panic to Peace students: people who spent years believing recovery wasn't possible for them, who are now back to driving, dropping their kids off at school, playing tennis, traveling, and doing things they once thought were completely out of reach. Two or three months into the program, again and again, I hear the same thing: I can't believe I waited years to join.

What If I Can?

The shift for me wasn't about certainty or guarantees, it was about allowing recovery to be a possibility in the first place. I didn't recover by knowing exactly how it would happen. I recovered by getting curious about what my life could look like instead of staying comfortable in the story that it would always look the way it did. So instead of asking what if I can't recover, I'm asking you to try a different question with me: what if I can?

The next round of Panic to Peace opens September 22nd and starts October 4th. It’s 10 weeks, live, with me every single week. If you've been on the fence for months (or years), this is your sign to join.
