"What If I'm the Exception?" — Your Panic to Peace Questions, Answered
What if I'm the exception?
That's one of the biggest questions I hear, every single round, from probably 80% of the people who join Panic to Peace. And it's exactly why I recorded this impromptu episode. I've been getting so many questions about the program lately, and instead of answering them one at a time, I figured the easiest and most helpful thing would be to just answer them all in one place.
(Quick disclaimer if you listen to the audio: Colin was asleep in the next room while I recorded this, so I was talking quietly, and my cat Marbles was doing his own thing next to me. You've been warned.)
Here's a real rundown of what I get asked most, and my honest answers.
"What if I've been struggling for years? Will this actually work for me?"
Panic to Peace is for the person who's been struggling for years. I created this program because I struggled for over a decade. I tried therapy, multiple medications, every technique, every practice, diet changes, all of it. Nothing "worked," and it's exactly why I built something different. This is designed for the person who feels like they know everything there is to know about anxiety and is still struggling.
"What if I've already tried everything?"
So many people come to me having tried it all: the supplements, breathing techniques, meditation, CBD, you name it. Panic to Peace isn't teaching you that traditional stuff again. Some of it can genuinely help, but if you've tried everything traditional and you're still stuck, it's usually because those tools teach you to manage anxiety, not to actually change your relationship with it. That's the whole shift we make inside the program. We stop managing and start healing.
"What if I'm in therapy, or I've already done therapy?"
So many students take Panic to Peace alongside therapy, or after therapy, and it works beautifully either way. I'm not a therapist, and I don't teach textbook stuff. I teach what actually got me out of panic disorder and agoraphobia after 15 years, and what has helped hundreds of my students since. Therapy and this program don't compete. They can absolutely work together.
"What if my anxiety shows up in a specific way: driving, health, travel, whatever?"
I don't care how anxiety shows up for you. It's all anxiety, and I teach one thing: how to build a healthy relationship with it, no matter the flavor it comes in.
"What if I have a chronic illness or a medical condition?"
I've worked with so many people who have POTS, cardiac conditions, and other chronic illnesses layered into their anxiety. We're not treating the illness, we're treating the fear cycle around it, and that work still applies no matter what's underneath it.
"What if I can't make all the live calls?"
If you've been struggling for years, I always recommend the live version over self-paced, mostly because so many people who've been stuck for a long time have been trying to heal completely alone. We don't heal in isolation, we heal in connection. That said, every live call is recorded and yours for life, so missing a few doesn't mean missing out. Live calls run Tuesdays at 12:30pm EST, starting October 6th, for 10 weeks (though if I'm honest, it usually stretches closer to 11 or 12 because I can't help myself).
"What if I'm scared to spend the money and it won't work?"
This is such a normal fear, and of course anxiety is going to tell you it won't work. But here's my promise: if you go through the program, put in the work, and it genuinely doesn't help, I will give you your money back. I've had almost a thousand people go through Panic to Peace, and I have never had someone do the work and tell me it wasn't helpful.
"What if I'm the exception?"
You're not. I know it feels that way because I felt that way too. I thought I had a genetic predisposition, I'd struggled for over a decade, I'd tried everything, so surely I was the exception. I wasn't. I've worked with people who've struggled for decades, people who hadn't left their house in years, and people who could fly across the world but couldn't drive their kids five minutes to school. There is no exception. Anxiety just really wants you to believe there is.
"I really want to join, but I'm anxious about it"
Of course you are. This is a big decision with a lot of uncertainty, and I don't think anyone ever feels fully "ready" to do this work. It's okay to feel anxious about joining. Just don't let that anxiety make the decision for you.
If you've been thinking about this for months or years, I don't want you to wait another one. Take the leap, and I'll be right there with you.
